Schmidt Amazon Packs

Order Time counts refills that are already sealed inside Amazon packs as if they were still on the shelf. This does the subtraction for you and hands back an Excel file.

How this works & what the columns mean

What the problem is

Some Schmidt refills are already sealed inside Amazon multipacks. Order Time still counts those refills as if they were loose on the shelf, so every on‑hand figure reads higher than it really is. This page takes them back out.

What you do

  1. Export the four reports listed below from Order Time.
  2. Drop all four onto the box further down. Any order.
  3. Click Work out the real numbers.
  4. Click Download Excel file and work from that.

After the first time you only need three files — the bill of material is remembered, because it hardly ever changes. Use Use a fresh one if a BOM has been edited.

Where the answer is

Qty On Hand (Real)
What you actually have to sell or build with.
Order this many
What to put on the purchase order — the shortfall already rounded up to the minimum order. This is the one that matters.
Days until it needs ordering
On the Coming Up tab. How long the cushion lasts at current sales. Anything under two weeks is worth watching.

What the other columns mean

Qty On Hand (Order Time)
What Order Time reports before the packs are taken out. Too high.
Locked In Amazon Packs
Refills sitting inside multipacks at Amazon. Real stock, but not available — they are already made up into packs.
Qty Needed (Order Time)
Order Time’s own buy figure. A negative number means it thinks you have plenty.
Qty Needed (Real)
The same figure with the packs taken out. Still negative means nothing to buy.

Reading the result

Every part’s number changes — but a wrong number only matters if it changes what you buy. The banner at the top tells you how many parts that applies to, and the short table underneath lists only those. The long table below it is every part, smallest number first, if you want to see them all.

If a number looks wrong

Open the Show the working tab. It writes out every subtraction in full — which pack, how many, and why. A 6‑pack built from three 2‑pack blisters counts as six refills, and it shows you that step.

  3. Master Report - SchmidtReports → General → Items

Use the Export link next to each report, not the on-screen view. Save them anywhere — Downloads is fine.

Set to Amazon (location 230). Multi‑level packs are followed all the way down to the raw refill, so a 6‑pack built from three 2‑pack blisters counts as six. Blister cards, shells and boxes are ignored automatically. Nothing is uploaded anywhere — the files are read on this computer and go no further.
